Now there’s a UT slogan we haven’t seen before! From a 1983 t-shirt. Photo by H. Michael Karshis.

So last night, I was all excited and optimistic about what the introduction of Cristin Milioti as the Mother (watch the video below if you missed it) would do for the show as it headed into the home stretch. Surely, I thought, even Bays and Craig Thomas wouldn’t show us the Mother’s face in this episode and then drag out her meeting with Ted until the last episode of the series, right? Surely this would force the series to get its act together and move forward at the end, right? Wrong. At the end of a long statement CBS put out this morning, Bays said, “Our ninth season will tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever. We hope you like it. Next stop, Farhampton…” Sigh. They’re going to do it. They are really going to stretch Robin and Barney’s wedding weekend out over the entire final season.”

-
After How I Met Your Mother finale, what comes next? (via anagoeswest)

The Boston area is working hard to add bike lanes wherever they can. As a biker, in principle, I like the idea.

But as I’ve watched a busy stretch of road convert from no bike lanes to bike lanes, here’s what I’ve noticed most: more people park illegally. Somehow the bike lane operates as a…

Yes, weaving between parked cars is very dangerous because overtaking motorists don’t expect bikes to pop out from the front of a car. (even if they expect you to weave if they’re behind you.) In Austin, this is why the parking should be taken off of Shoal Creek or the bike-lane-like paint should be removed.

I’m not sure I learned anything from this image, but...

I’m not sure I learned anything from this image, but it’s cool to see bike parts arranged like this.
